Brasserie Alyssa

Brasserie Alyssa is actually a Thai restaurant. Situated on the 2nd floor in an old lane house, the place is small, cute and cosy. On this lunch visit we decided to try out 2 of the 3 lunch sets.

C's set (RMB78) came with tom yum soup to start. It didn't look as red as some of the ones I had seen but she said it's very nice and fiery.

Her main from the set was green curry chicken. It was very authentic and we loved it!
My set (RMB88) started with some kind of coconut soup. As innocent as it looked it was actually very spicy but very enjoyable.

My main was pad Thai. It wasn't the best I had but it was fine.
From the set there was some coconut milk dessert but we were unable to identify what the floating red buts were. They had a glutenous out side but were crunch like water chestnut inside. Very strange.

On top of the sets we ordered some extra spring rolls (RMB35). They were cute miniature rolls with only prawns inside. Not bad but they were not freshly made.

We were pretty happy with the meal and are happy to be going back.
