Mansion Veranda

Our plan was to go to Mesa but it looked shut? A bit of a shame cos I thought the food wasn't bad there at all, especially for lunches, where dishes were not grossly over-priced.

Plan B was Mansion Veranda. Like our last visit we decided to choose from the RMB108 set lunch menu for 2 courses again. C liked her watermelon and mozzarella sald so much she went for an encore. She has yet to figure out what's in the olive oil dressing - she is hoping to be able to do the same at home.

Again I ordered the cream of mushroom soup. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate.

For main C tried the seafood risotto. She seemed to have enjoyed it a lot.

My chicken linguine was a little to the plain side but nonetheless rather satisfying. The pasta was cooked perfectly; the sauce had just the right consistency to coat the pasta. As unexciting as it was to the taste buds the occasional green pepper corn did provide some zest to the dish.

For an extra RMB40 (I think) we got an extra course for dessert. We tried the home-made ice cream..while the green apple and mango tasted home-made the strawberry was clearly Haagan Dazs. I was not complaining though.
