Clipper Lounge, Mandarin Oriental

We thought we would treat ourselves to a nice breakfast to start off our weekend of intensive baby shopping and Clipper Lounge came to mind.

It was almost 11am when we got there and the scrumptious breakfast buffet was just closing. Bummer! Fortunately the a la carte had some pretty good selections.

My husband picked the poached eggs with corned beef and we were more than happy to see proper corned beef! Lean and salty it was perfect with the cubes of potato and poached eggs.

My french toast looked very impressive and funky. Though I quickly realised that french toast is best served thinly sliced cos you then get more crispy egg/butter batter. This version honestly wasn't bad but the doughy bread in the middle was a bit boring.

Breakfast with tea and coffee came close to HK$400.
